I will buy your Amarillo house for cash Well it’s almost Spring and we are still in a drought.  And I don’t just mean the weather.  We are also in a Real Estate drought.   I get calls every day from people asking about our market and wanting to know if I buy houses in Amarillo.  All I can really tell them is that it is very weird, and yes I still buy houses in Amarillo.  There are a lot of houses on the market so competition is fierce.  To make matters worse, it’s pretty hard to get a loan.  The economy is not very good either, so a lot of people who have money are afraid to spend it.  All of this makes for a very slow market. Well it’s almost Spring and we are still in a drought.  And I don’t just mean the weather.  We are also in a Real Estate drought.   I get calls every day from people asking about our market and wanting to know if I buy houses in Amarillo.  All I can really tell them is that it is very weird, and yes I still buy houses in Amarillo.  There are a lot of houses on the market so competition is fierce.  To make matters worse, it’s pretty hard to get a loan.  The economy is not very good either, so a lot of people who have money are afraid to spend it.  All of this makes for a very slow market.

In my opinion, the segment of our market that has been hit the hardest is fixer-uppers.  Houses that need work are really having a hard time selling.  There are tons of bank foreclosures on the market.  These houses present the greatest competition because they need work and they are priced at a discount.  In the past a person could list a fixer-upper on the market and it would sell.  Now it is not that easy.
